Viola Sullivan passed away peacefully at her home in California, Aegis of Fremont, early Christmas morning. Viola, or Babe as she was known by some, enjoyed a full life of 97 years.

Viola was born and raised in Oroville CA. In the 1940s, after moving to San Francisco to work as an administrative assistant for the FBI, she met and married her husband Bill. They eventually settled in Oakland where they resided in the same home for more than sixty years, raising four children. For many years Viola was the office manager for an orthodontics practice in Oakland. She enjoyed travel and visiting with friends and family, notably annual trips to La Porte CA, a source of much of her family history. In 2010 Viola and Bill moved from Oakland to Aegis of Fremont Assisted Living. Viola made many friends at Aegis through the years and their kindness and support is much appreciated.

Viola was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bill Sullivan, and her oldest son Paul Sullivan. She will be missed by son Mark Sullivan and wife Ellie David of Seattle WA, daughter Susan Sullivan of Reno NV, daughter Peggy Claassen and husband Alan Claassen of Fremont CA, and daughter-in-law Alice Sullivan of Clayton CA, as well as four grandchildren: Amy, Becky, Ryan and Scott, and three great grandchildren: Rayne, Mia and Gus, and many cousins.

Viola will be reunited with her deceased husband in Chapel of the Chimes Columbarium in Oakland CA. No services are scheduled at this time.
