Obituary For Monte Cornell Jarman

Monte Cornell Jarman, a long-time resident of Fremont, came into this world February 11, 1932, born to Orie Cornell Jarman and Wilma Bernice Henderson in Compton, CA. He served in the Army as a Corporal from 1951 to 1954. In 1955, he married the lovely Lois DeStJeor. In 1958, he graduated from Brigham Young University. The young family then moved to CA and Monte started teaching at LaVista Junior High School in Hayward, CA. After a few years he moved down the street to Tennyson High School where he taught History and served as a Counselor and Tennis Coach. He retired from teaching in 1976 and earned his living as a property manager and handyman. He enjoyed playing softball and tennis for many years. He also spent many years serving others as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Monte was preceded in death by his wife Lois, 2 sons who died in infancy and his brother David Jarman. He is survived by his brother Dale Jarman, sister June Richards, his 4 children Sheri (Mrs. Tom Congrave), Craig (Leisa Jarman), Scott (Shonna Jarman) and Lisa, his 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, 11am at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3551 Decoto Rd., Fremont, CA. Internment at take place at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
