Deborah J. Carey, 68, of Fremont, passed away on September 15, 2023 after a long battle with colon cancer.

Deb was born on August 21, 1955 to John and Ida Carey in Newton, Mass. Her family moved to Sunnyvale in 1963. After Deb graduated from Sunnyvale High School in 1973, she went on to work her way up through the ranks of the booming high-tech industry of the 80’s in the South Bay. Times were good for young women back then and she made the most of what she was offered. She had several jobs with many opportunities and was very successful in her work.

In 1983, Deb met Roger Stringham of Fremont. Deb and Roger went on to spend 20 happy years together building a life that was well lived.

In 2007, Deb retired and spent her time teaching herself to draw, she had many wonderful travel adventures with her sister Sue and loved working with the Niles Dog Show.

Deb was predeceased by her husband Roger, brother Jay and her parents. She is survived by her sisters Edna (Tedi) and Suzanne.

Deb has requested no formal services; however, she has requested there be a Celebration of Life held at Jack’s Brewing Company, 39176 Argonaut Way in Fremont on Wednesday, September 27th from 2-4PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ohlone Humane Society, an organization Deb felt strongly about.
