Wayne graduated from Marysville California High School in 1951 and joined the Navy during the Korean War. He worked three years at the submarine base, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; after discharge attended Marysville College while serving as a Navy Reservist, then deployed with the California National Guard/U.S. Army as a specialist serving at the Nike Missile Sites in the Bay Area Defense Installations. He later left the service and began a successful career as a salesman in Hayward’s Southland Mall Sears store where he worked for 32 years. In the early 60’s he moved his young family to Fremont where he enjoyed being an active and dedicated father. He had a private pilot license and was a member of Alameda Flying Club. He flew the family to many parts of the United States for some terrific vacations. He enjoyed family RV road trips, boating and camping, he left us with happy memories of many fun times. He truly had a heart of gold and was kind to everyone he met. He was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and will be missed dearly. We cannot imagine life without him but we know he’s in heaven now- happy and safe in the arms of God.

I will always remember Wayne for reading us stories, asking us random trivia, and handing out candy during his visits with us kids at St. Leonards. When I think of the kindest people I've ever met, Mr. Adams often comes to mind. I know he is in heaven. Mr. Adams, pray for us. 🙏
