Obituary For Oral "Obie" Boothe

Oral "Obie" Boothe died peacefully on May 17, 2019 in Fremont, California. He was 41.

Oral was born on December 16, 1977 in Clarendon Jamaica to his parents Danville Boothe and Carolyn Brooks. He immigrated to the United States in 1987 and grew up on the east coast. After graduating from high school he was a “Jack of All Trades” and worked in multiple industries before discovering his true passion: food. He graduated from Stratford University with a degree in Culinary Arts and worked for many years as a chef in the Washington DC area.

After meeting his fiancé Kena in 2015, they moved to California in 2016 and he returned to school. He was working towards a degree in information technology and hoped to start his own business one day.

Oral was patient and kind. He had a passion for knowledge and a desire to help those who could not help themselves. In his spare time, he volunteered at homeless shelters, watched action films and documentaries, and spent as much time as possible by the water.

Oral is survived by his fiancé Kena, mother Carolyn, sisters Kadine, Kimberlyn, Keisha, and Kimberley, and aunts Bev, Sher, and Juliet.

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, June 9th at 2:00 P.M. at Shiloh Christian Fellowship - 4318 Rhode Island Avenue, Brentwood, MD 20782.
