Obituaries

Born October 26, 1936 in Mexico, and entered into rest on May 31, 2014 in Fremont, CA at the age of 77. Survived by his wife Soledad; children: Mario, Victor, Rosie, Fred, and Letty; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Eva, Martha, Carlos, and Guillermo. Predeceased by his parents: Mariano Sr. and Eloisa; and his brother Victor.

Mariano was the owner of El Patio in Fremont for 30 years. Prior to that he worked for a construction company, Swinerton & Walberg, in San Francisco for over 40 years. He was a member of the carpenter's union for over 50 years. He also worked as an almond farmer in Ripon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, from 5-8pm with a Vigil at 6:30pm at Fremont Chapel of the Roses, 1940 Peralta Blvd., Fremont, CA 94536. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 6, 11am at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave., Newark, CA 94560. Inurnment at Irvington Memorial Cemetery in Fremont, CA.
