Obituary For Arthur Kinson,

Arthur Kinson Jr, age 87 of Fremont passed away the evening of January 28, 2021 due to pneumonia secondary to the COVID virus. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Arthur was born in Akron Ohio on March 2, 1933 to Arthur Kinson Sr. and Elsie Huber Kinson. The family relocated to the Bay Area post-WWII, where Arthur Joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from El Cerrito High School in 1951. Arthur served the major portion of his military service time overseas in England and Germany. After Honorable Discharge from the Air Force, Arthur worked at various jobs at the Oakland Airport as an aircraft electrician, before landing a Union job with General Foods in San Leandro. Arthur worked 30 years as a Teamster at General Foods before retirement. Arthur enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating, the Oakland Raiders AND the 49’ers and he was a big motorsports - NASCAR/Indy Car/NHRA - fan. He had a tremendous mechanical aptitude and loved working on his own cars (a lot of times out of necessity) and, quite possibly his favorite hobby of all, tinkering around the garage repairing and “improving” anything that he needed repaired or improved. Arthur is preceded in death by his first wife, Angelita and by his sisters Betty, Reva and Joann. He is survived by his sons Alfonso “Eddy” Sanchez, Carlos Sanchez, Martin Sanchez, John Kinson and his wife Jillian, and Joe Kinson, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Arthur is also survived by his wife Hope and his extended family with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Due to current COVID conditions, social distance protocols and the weather, the decision has been made to postpone a Military Honors Memorial Internment and a Celebration of Life until such a time that conditions improve to a point where we feel our friends and family can comfortably and safely gather to remember and honor Arthur. Every effort will be made to keep friends and family informed of Memorial Services as conditions hopefully improve.
