Alec was a wonderful man. I am so saddened by his death. We worked together for about 18 months and he always had good advice to provide and an ear to lend. He will surely be missed by many and his absence will be felt. I am thankful to have had him in my life if only for a short period of time.

I worked with Alec for many years....I had an opportunity to connect with him a few months ago and as always it was a joyful experience....Alec was always great to work with and fun to talk to (that accent!). My thoughts are with his family and friends. He was one of the good guys and will be missed. - Susan Braverman

Alec and I worked together in the old BofA days, and then later traveled on the same schedule to Charlotte and back. If we saw each other in the airport, we would have breakfast together "just in case" we weren't upgraded to first class. We would vie for those first class seats with extra working room and a second breakfast! And we would tease the one who didn't get the upgrade! You will be missed by many Alec!

Alexander “Alan, Alec, Alex, Sandy,” Henretty died unexpectedly, in Fremont California, on March 7, 2015 at the age of 75. Dad is survived by his children, Tracy Ann Henretty (Fremont, CA,) Kirsten Lynn Henretty-Verner (Sedro-Woolley, WA,) Katarina Henretty (Fremont, CA;) His grandchildren, Michael Vincent Henretty-Verner, Nicholas Christofer Henretty-Verner, Moire Lynn Verner, and Leo Alexander Verner. His sister and brother in law, Edna and Bob Sizlo (Summerland, CA;) his brother and sister in law, Murdoch and Muriel Henretty (Palm Springs, CA.) Alan was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline Henretty; and his parents, Mary Clarke and John Henretty, of Edinburgh Scotland. Alexander began his life in Scotland on September 25, 1939. At the age of 8 he began working as a “paper-boy” to support his mother after his father died. Alexander came to the United States and started his own business (in Typography,) and adopted two children, Tracy and Kirsten. Later, adopted Katarina from Samoa. Our father had a strong work ethic, and yet, at the same time, a sense of humor that could never be compromised. He worked to every extent of his ability! He was a Father, Educator, Friend, and Loved by many. There are many stories that can, and will be told, but ultimately, HE WAS AMAZING! A memorial is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 1pm, at Sunol Valley Golf Club, 6900 Mission Road, Sunol, CA 94586, (925)862-2404, with a reception immediately following. Edna Sizlo will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Alexander Henretty's life. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Henretty Trust 2012, at 37103 Oak St. Fremont CA 94536, or a scholarship fund for Katarina Henretty (currently under-works with details to follow.) Condolences can be sent to www.fremontchapeloftheroses.com.

Shared many a Saturday together talking about the highs and lows of life and then having a laugh when we could. You'll be sorely missed and not just on Saturday.
