Right before she died, when we knew she was about to leave this Earth, she asked to brush my hair. It was short, and I reminded her of this, but she insisted she'd do it. We sat there, together, on the ground, right in front of the tv watching the movie The Good Witch on the Hallmark channel. She said she wanted to do one hundred strokes, fifty on each side. I counted in English the first time, and the second time she wanted me to count in Spanish for her. I was rusty, but she helped me with every little mistake, brushing and complimenting my tangled, greasy hair. I'm glad she insisted on brushing my hair that day. I wish we had done it more often. I miss her so much. Grandma, if you're reading this in heaven, if there is a heaven, I miss you. I miss you so, so, so, so, terribly much. I love you.
